Clovers and compliments

During the 30 for 30, Mom gave me some clothes, mainly to challenge me. I'm just now getting around to integrating them into my wardrobe. Here's something she gave me just to be nice, though, that I really like:
This crocheted top my great-Aunt made. See the clovers on them?
I decided to wear it with a sweet dress.
Green polka dot dress - Primark, Sandals - Jeffrey Campbell
With some slightly tougher gladiator-style sandals.
Tonight I went to the gym, not really feeling it. But then I remembered that one of the people working at the front desk gave me a compliment recently. She said she saw me approaching while she was working with a couple others, and they all mentioned how it looks like I've slimmed down lately (not that I was overweight before). I thought it was really sweet that they said that, but also just that she told me. I feel like too often people keep compliments private, in their heads or behind your back, and I've never understood why. I love complimenting strangers and friends alike, telling them in general they look nice, or they're wearing killer shoes, or what have you.

So let out those compliments--it can make a big difference to somebody! Including me--I worked out for almost an hour tonight :)

  2. Thanks for visiting, Duchess! I think these are the shoes that made me fall in love with Jeffrey Campbell (and it's now a full-fledged love affair). And I do always feel vintage and very girly when wearing this dress.
